Job Title: Public Relations Officer

Job Purpose
The Public Relations Officer will support the implementation of TAZARA’s corporate communication and public relations functions through effective media engagement, stakeholder communication, brand management, and dissemination of information aimed at enhancing the organization’s public image and visibility.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Coordinating media relations activities and public communication
- Drafting and distributing press releases, speeches, newsletters, and communication materials
- Monitoring media coverage and public opinion regarding TAZARA
- Supporting corporate branding, marketing, and publicity programmes
- Coordinating exhibitions, trade fairs, official visits, and public events
- Managing social media platforms and digital communication channels
- Maintaining relationships with media houses, government institutions, customers, and development partners
- Supporting crisis communication and reputation management activities
- Ensuring compliance with corporate identity and communication standards
- Preparing communication and public relations performance reports
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must possess:
- Form IV and/or Form VI Secondary Education Certificate
- Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations, Mass Communication, Journalism, Communication Studies, or a related field from a recognized institution
- Minimum of three (3) years relevant work experience in public relations, corporate communication, media, or stakeholder engagement
- Age not exceeding 45 years
